Are you still out there?

I was messing around on the internet this evening and was thinking of how far we have come since my first post here on Jarrid.Net and the internet itself. Though I am sure I have some archives of the old blog, I am far too lazy and busy (call it what you want) to look for it. Jarrid.Net, according to who.is, has been active since August 26, 2005. My last known post I have been able to find is dated May 16, 2006 which was after I had moved out of Florida. The post was as followed:

A FEW WEEKS AGO, JOSH AND I WENT HIKING AND WE DID A WHOLE BUNCH OF THINGS DURING THE HIKE. WE DISCOVERED HOW TO BUILD A BRIDGE ACROSS A CREEK (TOSSED ROCKS IN IT) WE DISCOVERED AN OLD ABANDONED WAREHOUSE, AND WE ALSO GOT LOST FOR 5 HOURS IN THE WOODS.

So much has happened since that post as well as the days I remember the internet to be. Geocities, Yahoo Games and ICQ Chat just to name a few of some old past times. Now there are more blogs, vlogs, tiktoks, snapchats, facebook, instagram and more that the internet is beyond crowded.

This really got me wondering if anyone is still out there. You know who you are and I don’t expect you to still be because Jarrid.Net hasn’t been around like it use to be. The only person I expect to read this message is my brother Josh. Not because he visits the site often, it’s more like cause I go through him for my domain services meaning there is a good chance when it is time for renewal he will take a peek to see what the site is up to these days.

That is the other thing about this website. Not only has it been around for nearly 16 years, but it hasn’t always been a blog and wasn’t my only website i’ve owned. Those who really know me might also remember scratchedtavern.com. It was my old music site with the slogan “Serving you music instead of beer”. Here is a post from that site back from April 7, 2005:

WEEZER IS COMING OUT WITH A NEW CD CALLED “MAKE BELIEVE” COMING OUT MAY 10, 2005. THIS ALBUM FEATURES THERE NEW HIT “BEVERLY HILLS”. ORDER IT NOW AT AMAZON.COM AND SAVE $1.99.

Which also reminds me of my long obsession of the band Weezer. Not really sure why I picked Weezer as the band for me, but I enjoyed their music back then and still now to this day. First concert I went to was a Weezer Concert in Florida so maybe that helped kickstart my appreciation for them and music all together.

2020 was one hell of a year and I know everyone was dying to know, what happened to Jarrid.Net. I hope to make your wild dreams come true, bring back Jarrid.Net for 2021. Let’s go places (what are we in a Toyota commercial?).
